Top-Selling Projectors in February from PMA Research Tracking Service

PMA Research, the worldwide market information experts on front projectors, has posted their most recent Projector Tracking Service results to the “Top-Selling Projectors” area of their website.

For nearly 20 years now, PMA Research has collected monthly sell-through data from leading U.S. projector dealers, retailers, web resellers and distributors. Their Tracking Service family of monthly reports offers timely data and analysis on unit sales, true volume-weighted street prices, and inventories of front projectors for these channels.

Each month, PMA Research posts their “Top 5” Projector Lists for the following categories:

5,000+ Lumen Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Pro AV Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of Pro AV dealers and systems integrators. In the 5,000+ Lumen projector category, the February results showed Sony with the best-selling model – the VPL-PHZ10. Panasonic followed with the PT-RZ570W/B coming in second, and also had their PT-VZ580 in the fifth spot. Epson rounded out this February “Top 5” list with a pair of models as well. Their PowerLite 2250U and PowerLite Pro G7500U came in third and fourth, respectively.

Mainstream Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Distributor Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of IT, Pro AV, and CEDIA distributors. Among Mainstream projectors, Epson swept the “Top 5” list in the Mainstream category in February. Three PowerLite models – the X39, the 108, and the 109W came in first, second and fifth, respectively. Two Epson BrightLink models – the 695Wi and 685Wi — rounded out the Mainstream projector “Top 5” list coming in third and fourth, respectively.

Home Entertainment Projectors – This “Top 5″ list is compiled from data collected from PMA’s monthly Retail Projector Tracking Service panel, which is made up of U.S. retailers and web resellers. In the Home Entertainment projector category, Optoma had a trio of projectors make the “Top 5” list in February. The Optoma HD142X was the month’s best-selling projector, and their GT1080Darbee and HD27 came in third and fourth, respectively. BenQ’s HT2050 was the second-best selling home theater projector in February, and Epson’s PowerLite Home Cinema 2100 rounded out the “Top 5” list.
